be careful not to get run over by a car, mummy, because if a car got us we would all die and daddy would come home and say 'oh no, what's happened to my family? they are all dead'
I would say that as well

08:36 am - Long time, no post
I'm dumping Kitty on my mum and dad on Saturday morning and I'm off down the
Lincolnshire Archive again. Apparently, according to Rachael's friend at work, library geek chic is in this season, though he they are civil servants... I like to think of myself more as a trend setter than follower anyway. I should be a bit better organised this time, I'm even going to take a list of stuff I've requested.
All this to try and discover the origins of the cricket club I play for, I really have better things to do with my time.

10:56 pm - Cool/Uncool
Somethings are cool, like buying your daughter a bike for her birthday and fitting stabilisers to it (very dad like) and somethings are uncool, like getting a phonecall to say your grandad (79) has had a heart attack and is in hospital. He went in Monday and should be out tomorrow, luckily it seems it should just be a warning that he is not 50 anymore and that I live only 2 mniutes away and can do the heavy lifting for him.

09:17 am - Ronnie Barker Has Died
And why that matters to me. Hard to explain, but basically his character in Porridge is the televisiual representation of my grandad (with added criminal convictions). My grandad is still around, but getting on a bit. So this is a sort of example I can give to my kids of how there great grandad spoke and acted and to some extent looked. In additon to this he was in Open All Hours, and not much beats that. Sorry if this a abit of a ramble, but it's nine in the morning and I'm a bit drunk, part of the hazard of being on nights.
